Deoderant Under Security

You know that we are in a time of recession when a Walgreens Store feels a need to secure the deodorant in a locked case.

All white basketball team

I haven’t decided how ridiculous this is or if it is?

A former pro wrestling promoter is starting an all-Caucasian pro basketball league which hopes to start in June in 12 cities, among them Augusta, Ga. The All-American Basketball Alliance announced its plans in a news release Sunday evening, hours before Martin Luther King Day. Excerpt: “Only players that are natural born United States citizens with both parents of Caucasian race are eligible to play in the league.” Read More

janet-jackson

Okay, maybe I’m the only one thinking this- but here goes. Janet is beautiful. She has touched us on screen (Fame, Good Time’s, Why Did I Get Married), and more often in her music (Control, Nasty, Anytime), but I personally, haven’t understood a word she’s said since Read More

futuristic wardrobe

I’m not against going to the moon I just don’t know if my wardrobe is adequate. Some of these outfits are cute, but really? Is this where we are headed? Individuality is a must people and every look isn’t for the streets. Read More

cyndi zoe

Do you dress according to what you like or how you want to be perceived? I think it’s safe to say that your attire speaks volumes about you who you are as a person. It is a way to introduce and express yourself before you open your mouth.

You can argue the age old conversation about wearing too short skirts doesn’t mean your Read More

wtf friday…
peta-save-whales-billboard

People who have a high regard of animal rights clearly have no sympathy for human rights. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, commonly known by its acronym PETA, have crossed the line with their latest billboard.

It is located in Jacksonville, Florida and features an overweight woman with the caption, “Save the whales. Lose the blubber: Go vegetarian.”

Is PETA serious right now. Let’s just gather all the overweight population and cast stones at them.

PETA’s response to the backlash against its billboard is to point out that it is trying to help obese people. PETA released a press release that quoted Tracy Reiman, PETA’s executive vice president, as saying, “Trying to hide your thunder thighs and Read More

wardrobe wednesday…

fall fashion collage

When a different season approaches, do you listen to what the style guru’s such as Carolina Herrera, Oscar Del La Renta,  and Michael Kors have to say? Do you base your mall purchases on pics seen in magazines? Or do you choose your own style, so to speak?

Do you wear scarves because Jay -Z and Lil Wayne made it ok, or did you have a collection of them before hand.  Are you shaving one half of your head because someone else did it, or was it a thought when you were younger watching Mr. T and The A Team.

Do you own sensible pieces or will you have to start all over come next fall? Are you trendy, chasing each fad that comes along. Or do you create a wardrobe that stands the test of time and you always look fashionable?

solange project

Seriously!!! I don’t care….

Why does anyone care, how people are cutting their hair. Other than “Oh that’s cute” or “ewwh, I dont like it.” Guess what you don’t have to look at her, and no one is forcing you to cut yours.

Why the girl have to be going through something or seeking attention. Why cant it just be hot as hell outside and she is tired of spending her money on bags of weave. India Arie told you folks “I am not my hair”…. I’m just saying…
