I know …. I know you have to be saying what happened to the Week 3 Re-Cap? Listen for the first time ever I was a sore loser boycotting the NFL after my PACKERS were robbed on national TV during their MNF game against the Seahawks. Yeah I admitted it …. don’t judge me…… blame the ref’s!!!!! Over the first three weeks of the 2012 NFL season these replacements have damaged the NFL’s once sterling image , so in Week 4 after the long conversation that I had with Commissioner Goodell (Yeah he’s a friend to the blog…..BROWNGIRLNEXTDOOR.COM rep’s hard in the streets and in cyberspace…lol) the real ref’s came back for Thursday Night Football. So rest easy people no longer will we have to deal with dudes that couldn’t ref a wheelchair league flag football game…..ijs Sorry Stevie but you would have done much better!

Now that I got that outta my system back to the Week 4 action as we start with a division clash between the Lions and the Vikings. The Lions have lost their last two games in surprising fashion with one of the leagues most explosive offenses on paper they have struggled to put points on the board…yeah even with Megatron. For the Vikings not only have they gotten off to a great start they lead the division and second year QB Christian Ponder seems to have become the leader they’ve been looking for. Well it couldn’t have started any better for the Vik’s as WR Percy Harvin takes the opening kickoff back 105 yards for a early 7 – 0 lead. The Vik’s defense would join in on the party too keeping the Lions off beat throughout the entire first half only managing two field goals for a 13 -6 Vikings halftime lead. The Lions would try to mount a comeback in the second half but the Vik’s got big plays from their defense and special teams closing out the 20 -13 victory. Yes people the Vikings are 3 – 1 on this young season……..
On to another division rivalry we head down to the “A” as they Dirty Birds welcome Cam & the Panthers to the Dome. For the Panthers could they get back on track after their meltdown against the Giants and for the Falcons could they final prove that they have taken that next step and become an elite NFL team? Obviously Cam had other plans as the Panthers started the game of great as they marched down the field for and early touch down to TE Greg Olsen and a 7- 0 lead. On the Falcon’s first possession Matty Ice didn’t look cool at all as he threw a pic into the end-zone giving the Panthers another shot to put points on the board. However the vastly improved Falcons defense forced a quick 3 & out series giving the ball back to their offense. Falcons QB Matt Ryan would answer with a touchdown drive of his own finding WR Rody White for a touchdown and a 7 – 7 tie at the end of the first quarter. As usual with the Panthers and Falcons the game would be back & forth throughout with each team grabbing the lead for moments, but the Panthers would have the 28 – 24 lead late in the fourth quarter. The Panthers defense would even force a quick 3 & out series themselves late to give the ball back to Cam and the Panthers offense, Cam had a costly turnover giving the Falcons another opportunity for a win. The Falcons would start their drive from the one yard line with only 1 minuet to go in the game …… game over Panthers win right …… I don’t know if during the TV timeouts they were handing out 2 for 1 coupons at Magic City or Joseline told all the defensive backs that they were the Father or Scrappy came thru to Put Some Paws On Em , but it was one big play after another that got the Falcons into field goal range to get the 30 – 28 victory. Now if the Panthers would have just let Stebie drive the bus then they could have won the game & got the girls…….smdh For the Falcons winning a close game the way they did has shown growth from last season and more importantly their 4 – 0 this season.

One of the late games that caught my attention was the Bucs and the Redskins. The Bucs are a young team that clearly has the potential and talent to be a good team but their youth shows in crucial situation thus there 1 -2 mark coming into this game. The Redskins are really interesting because RG3 has brought a different energy to the team that they have been missing over the last couple of years. The Redskins seemed to have control of the game earlier outscoring the Bucs in the first half for a 21 – 6 lead. The Bucs however would keep fighting just hanging around throughout the game looking for the one chance to take the lead. With a field goal late in the fourth quarter the Bucs would get that lead only needing a defensive stand to wrap up the victory , but this definitely aint your momma’s Redskins and RG3 is wayyyyyyyy better than former QB “Sexy Rexy” Grossman……wait I should smack my damn self for calling him “Sexy Rexy” my bad people …..that just like calling another grown man “Delicious”…..smdh!!!! Anyway RG3 proved in college and has so far shown in the pro’s that no moment is too big for the talented young QB….like my boy UNIT says ….”Lil Nukca Got Heart”….. as RG3 lead the Redskins right down the field for a game winning field goal and a 24 – 22 win pushing the Redskins to a 500 record at 2 – 2 on the year so far.

In this week’s version of Say Word I wanted to talk about really quickly the upcoming election ….more importantly voting. Now I’m not going to get into who I’m voting for #OBAMA…… who you should be voting for #OBAMA….. who is the better choice #OBAMA….etc I’m just going to focus on the process itself I know that the common theme that comes about during elections are looking for change or putting a person in office that will address our concerns and needs as a people. People I’m with you all on that but understand nothing happens unless we go out and actually vote. Now you may not be into politics ….you may be at a point in your life where you don’t care ….you may be voting for the other party …I’m just saying whatever the reason …. the cause … the political stance take advantage of a right that our four fathers & mothers have died for and go vote. It’s funny how the internet has all these funny pics about people standing in line for Jordan’s or standing in line for the Iphone 5 but not enough pictures giving people a reason to make sure they vote. Understand people change comes from within ….it comes from educating ourselves on the issues that we face everyday and making a choice to get behind / put faith into someone that will bring about change …..it comes from not looking at where we are right now as a people but where we wanna go ….what it will be like for our children …..it comes from taking our civic duty to heart and making sure our voice is heard. In my opinion this election is bigger than the last because we can truly let it be known how much we value the right that we have been given and that we do believe in the possibility of real change. So people I beg you not to be discouraged by the media hype , by the rumors you hear about what you will need to vote or if you will be able to …..go educate yourself and take the personal responsibility on to be a part of change….. VOTE PEOPLE!!!!!!!! So til next week people Be Easy………… you’ve just read THE RUCKER REPORT
