YES ….YES…..YES PEOPLE…….I’M BACK JUST LIKE I NEVER LEFT…. don’t judge me. Anyway it’s time for the 2012 NFL regular season to start. Now this summer was different than last for the NFL as there was no lockout to watch for and each team had a full summer to get things together in their quest for the Lombardi trophy, but just because there was no lockout didn’t mean the players were on their best behavior. Let’s start with the Saints and the “Bounty Scandal” , these fools recorded themselves places dollar amounts on hurting opposing players for real. No listen I’ve had coaches in my time say “You better knock him the hell out ” ….”Break him in half ” or my all time favorite “Put him on a stretcher “….. but to put a real dollar amount on hurting somebody is crazy. The result of the scandal was almost the whole team and the coach getting suspended for the entire year ……WHO DAT GONNA PLAY FOR Y’ALL THIS YEAR??????? Next we saw a friend to the blog TO make another dumb decision if his show wasn’t bad enough for his career this fool goes on Dr. Phil with allllllllll his baby’s mothers!!!!!! C’mon Son you could have gotten pass with just one but all of them….smdh. Ok let’s get real for a second this dude who had issues with his own father denying him as a child wasn’t really taking care of none of his? What made it even worse is dude wore a sherbert sweater with old navy flip flops…. You just gonna put your toes out on Dr. Phil huh …….. Oh have the mighty have fallen (TO PIC) To cap the summer off we had to look no further than my man Ocho Cinco ….wait he figured his government name would get him another job so he changed back to Chad Johnson. He got married to Evelyn from Basketball Wives ……then got cut by the Patriots after he said he couldn’t understand the playbook ….got picked up by the Dolphins ….the team got put on HBO’s HardKnocks …… he was normal Chad …..actually looking like he would not only make the team but be it’s number one receiver then it happened …….THE HEAD BUTT HEARD AROUND THE WORLD!!!!!! Now I know a lot of y’all may not admit this so I will Evelyn had a @## whooping coming just because of all the women on Basketball Wives that she was punking , but to get head butted like she was a damn wrestler may have been too much. No we do not condone violence here at the RUCKER REPORT…… , however you hit me , slap me , spit on me …etc is grounds to get shook until you dizzy……I’m just saying. Ok so what we all really came to talk about was football being back. As you all know I am a PACKER FAN …. all day …one packer pillow …..making my own chesse head …… green face paint ….. Bret Farve jersey on (Yeah I Said It) …… y’all know the rest. So every team goes into the season with the expectation of getting to the Superbowl , but looking at the moves that were made over the summer there may be some suprises this season. How will the Redskins and their rookie QB RG3 do in the NFC East ….. Can the Eagles bounce back from their disappointing “Dream Team” season ……. Can the Pat’s dominate again marching to the Superbowl ….. How will the Saints play without their headcoach ……..Are the 49ners for real ……. Can the Dirty Birds bring the excitement back to the A…. well nah Stebie J did that so yall straight shawty …. Can the Packers win a home playoff game ….. Are the Texans the new team to beat in the AFC… Can Tony Romo finally lead the Cowboys deep into the playoffs and the most important question Will the Giants repeat (man it hurt to say that)?
So with all these questions in mind we kick off the season with a Wednesday Night Prime Time showdown between the Cowboys & Giants. For the Cowboys they had to be thinking revenge as the Giants in effect ended their season last year with a win in the 2011 regular season finally. For the Giants it was “Ring Night” as the Superbowl Champs started the 2012 season at home in front of all their fans. In the first quarter it was clear that both defenses were up to the challenge as they made play after play keeping either offense from putting points on the board. In the second quarter with the Cowboys looking like they were putting a drive together the Giants defense stepped up again as MLB Michael Boley intercepted a pass which lead to a field goal and a 3 – 0 Giants lead. The Cowboys would respond in the waning minutes of the first half with a drive of their own capped off by a Tony Romo scramble and TD pass to WR Kevin Ogletree for the 7 -3 halftime lead.
In the second half it was a mix of the Dallas defense namely Demarcus Ware as they continued to limit Eli and the Giants for most of the half. (WARE) The Giants would do what the Giants do and thats fight back into the game with touchdowns by TE Martelius Bennett (Why his ma’ma name him that….just smh) and RB Ahmad Bradshaw bringing the Giants into one score from tying the game. (BRADSHAW) In the end Tony Romo would make all the plays the Cowboys needed to seal the 24 – 17 win.
Overall people a great way to start the season …… so be on the look out for the entire week one recap next week and the debut of the 2012 version of SAY WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
