This episode of Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition  was an emotional journey into  27 year old Nyla Gibson‘s  past. Nyla had been abandoned by her father at birth. After finally dealing with her family pain, Nyla knew she needed to change her eating and lifestyle and when she did, she finally started to lose weight. She started at 435 lbs. and had her final weigh in, after a year of cutting back, finding healthy alternatives to her usual southern style foods, and her relentless approach to exercise- Nyla, the former  high school state champion weightlifter weighed in at 278 lbs. While she finished her one year plan, her journey was just beginning. Here’s a sample of Nyla’s diet and exercise regimen:

Exercise Routine:
Working out 6 days per week
