This weekend I spent my time baking in the sun at the 2012 Funk Fest at Wolf Creek Amphitheater. It was my first time at that venue and it was a pretty good experience. Scheduled to perform were Doug E. Fresh, SWV, Loose Ends, Special Ed, Raheem DeVaughn, El Debarge, Erykah Badu, and New Edition.
The venue was nice, clean, with clean restrooms and it also had great parking, but I would have loved to be able to take my own picnic basket ($3 water can get expensive in 90 degree weather).
After a couple of opening acts of up and coming artist, the show kicked off with the infamous, one man entertainer – Doug E. Fresh. Doug E. Fresh was on stage for about an hour, and had the crowd on their feet most of that time. He and his DJ, had a great set, taking us down memory lane with old school hits like, Before I Let Go, the Good Times Theme, and Doing the Butt which all led up to his hits like The Show!
Doug E. Fresh beatboxed for about 5 straight minutes still wowing the crowd which impressed me even further. I don’t know how old Fresh is, but he is very energetic and a great entertainer. He did that!
Oh, and by the way, my usual photographer asked that I include that I took these pics and not him! A mess.

Girl, I was so horse and sore after that show! I mean I haven’t danced that much in years! And New Edition!!! I am such a groupie. I’ve been seeing them in concert for 30 years. ( showing my age now)
LOL!!! I know. It really was a great show. I love NE also,. really the reason I went. And it was my 3rd time watching them. I’m glad you had fun too!
