Idris Elba received a 2012 Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television award for the show “Luther.” The British actor thanked his daughter, Isan, who he said was having a Golden Globes party at home.
Octavia Spencer won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture award for “The Help.” In her acceptance speech she managed to thank Martin Luther King Jr. saying, “Martin Luther King Jr. said it best: All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance!”
