If you’ve been in midtown Atlanta recently then you’ve noticed the White Big Top dominating 8th and Spring Street. Inside the tent is the home of Cavalia.

As the co-founder of Cirque du Soleil and creator of Cavalia—Normand Latourelle’s goal was to bring a new type of art in front of the public. He stated that you have to be courageous enough to change the pattern and push the limits, which is exactly what he, his writers and producers have done with Cavalia’s Odysseo.

Ca-val-ia – [CAVAL-E-YAH] -noun 1. A show’s given name describing an unforgettable and magical equestrian celebration of the senses. 2. Featuring the harmony between horse and man in an exquisite, fast-paced 120 minute performance. 3. A must see

The second installment of Cavalia is Odysseo. It features 70 horses, more than 40 trick riders and acrobats, and the biggest tent ever taken on tour. It’s described as an equestrian ballet and a lavish orchestration of multimedia and performing arts in a somewhat virtual setting. Between the sand filled stage that is later filled with 80,000 gallons of water to the more than 40 horses on stage with no bridles or saddles you really feel like you are on an amazing journey with the performers.

The horses and cast of Odysseo create an artistic dream world thru tricks, stunts, dances, and an amazing house band. It is an amazing show, something that can’t be appreciated fully through pictures and video.

Odysseo, which will set up at the intersection of 8th and Spring streets in Midtown, opens Dec. 7 and continues through Jan. 8, 2012 Please check out showtimes and more information at 866.999.8111, cavalia.net
