Recently I gathered up some willing participants and we headed to Dawsonville, GA to experience Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze. Uncle Shuck’s Maze is a 12 acre field of corn that has approximately 4 miles of trails that twist, turn and dead end.

I saw a few groups at the maze who split up and made a competition of the activity, but we decided to stick together. Once my eyes went from the provided map to the actual corn- I was lost? (Remember that if we go on a road trip together, and you decide to be all vintage with a map instead of a GPS system).

My 14 year old nephew didn’t find himself intimidated. He was ready to conquer all and slowly but surely he led us to all of the checkpoints through out the maze.

Uncle Shuck’s was a great experience, even a sort of team building exercise. Before we left, I insisted on a hayride, which I think I would have enjoyed more if it had been at night. I wanted to stay for a bonfire, but the troops were getting restless!

Uncle Shuck’s has a variety of festival foods on the menu including a few things I’d never heard of- Fried Oreos?

Thanks Everyone who embarked on this journey with me,… Not a typical Browngril activity, but it was fun! The Coupon Diva, Atl Eyecatcher, Hudgons Photography, Duntay, Larris, Heather, Cassius, Nick, and Jack!
