About as messy as reality tv, the scripted series on VH1, Single Ladies, has had its heated and drama filled moments on and off screen. First they said it was a fight. Then they said it wasn’t true. They said Stacey Dash was a Diva, and that Lisa Raye was one too.. Then someone came back to clear the air, and now all of it is supposedly untrue!
We heard that Stacey was being fired,…. and she released a statement saying she won’t be returning to the show because of the filming location and being so far away from her family. Hmmmmmm?
My first question is, did she sign the contract and then ask where the filming would take place?
Okay, whatever. My real question to all of you is this?. How do you want to see VH1 and Single Ladies move forward?. Do you want Val’s character replaced?, with one of those soap opera announcements that says “The character of Val is now being played XXXX”,…. Or do you want them to switch the characters like they did Aunt Viv, on Fresh Prince and keep things moving…. If so, who do you see filling in?.
Or should they write her out, all together?. I think its a great opportunity to bring Lauren London back as a main character.. I mean, is she busy right now? But,… can she carry this role?.
Im just saying, let me know if you will continue to watch now that the original Val is gone and how you feel, in general.

In a statement to Global Grind Stacey Dash said-
“I truly enjoyed playing Val on ‘Single Ladies’, but I have decided to leave the show. I have to be back in LA with my children right now and the ‘Single Ladies’ shooting location makes that impossible. I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show and in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in season one.”
Now today, VH1′s statement is as follows:
“VH1 respects Stacey’s decision and her commitment to what she feels is best for her family. We thank her for all of her hard work in making ‘Single Ladies’ a success right out of the gate, and we wish her nothing but the best in her future plans.”
No. Lauren cannot carry the show. She is unseasoned as is LisaRaye. I prefer the dynamic that was established, but going forward a replacement is necessary for Val’s role. She is a major character whose life and business is a focal point of alot of the storylines. Who would I like to see replace Stacey? I don’t know, could anyone be as “clueless” as she in their portrayal of Val. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Yea I dont know either how they are going to pull that one off. I cant even think of anyone to replace her maybe gabrielle union?
