Canvas by U is a great activity for the young and old, the artistic and the not so much. An art class geared towards the beginners but advanced enough for the professionals. You can move at your own pace or you can follow step by step as an instructor gives amazing tips on how to create your masterpiece. Canvas by U is owned by Artist Stacy Abston who has been in business since 2008.
This is how it works. Visit the site and pick the art piece that catches your creative eye. Gather your girl or guy friends if you wish, or make it a solo outing. Whichever you prefer- you will get so involved in your art, you may actually leave thinking you are the next Picasso.
Canvas by U, allows you to bring in your sips (wine or your choice of beverages) and snacks since you will usually be in the studio for a couple of hours.
Everything you need for your art is provided. We walked in, confirmed the registrations that we made online, grabbed an apron and headed to the paint section. Each color tells you the amount of squirts you will need of each color, so the guess work is done for you. One thing that stood out to me, was that you didnt have to stick with the color scheme of the sample art, they even encourage you to be creative and to paint what you feel.
Once settled with our sips, apron, paints and brushes we were off on our journey. Everyone did so well, and there were NO bad pictures. I don’t think there was one duplicate piece of what the teacher did, yet they were all the same. If you are artistic or not, this event will prove to be a fun, entertaining as well as fulfilling. I had so much fun seeing the various renditions of the final work, and believe it or not it was tremendously therapeutic. Canvas by U, has a few locations throughout Atlanta. One of my friends told me about this and so far I’ve done 4 paintings since the beginning of the year! It’s so much fun. I’ve gotten my sisters and my mom to come and do a painting too. Painting isn’t anything that we are “excellent” at but in the end, with the guidance of the instructor, all of our paintings are beautiful and creative! Something we will be doing again for sure!
