
Screen on the Green, a popular annual outdoor summer film festival in Atlanta, is a good way for visitors to enjoy an evening of free entertainment, people watching and being part of an eagerly awaited Atlanta summertime tradition. On scheduled Thursday nights, movies are shown on a large screen under the stars in Piedmont Park.
Location – Piedmont Park is located along 10th Street in Midtown Atlanta, about two miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. Because parking is limited, it is best to travel to the event on public transportation (MARTA) if possible.
If you are planning to attend Screen on the Green, a few things to note include:
- Permitted – Picnic baskets, coolers, blankets and lawn chairs (24 inches tall or shorter).
- Not Permitted – High-backed chairs, glass containers, grills, pets of any kind.
- In the event of extreme inclement weather, the movie may be cancelled.
