The BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards honors the accomplishments and contributions of Shirley Caesar and Commissioned.
Co-hosted by Donnie McClurkin and Kim Burrell, the show opened with BeBe and CeCe Winans’ chart-topping hit, “Close to You.” Spirited renditions of some of Caesar’s biggest hits – including “No Charge” and “Sweeping Through the City” featured Burrell, Beverly Crawford, Lucinda Moore and Ledisi – brought the crowd to its feet.
