spellcheck

In my quest to grown my audience and blog- I decided to order some flyers to pass out at the much anticipated and successful V-103′s For Sisters Only Event in Atlanta this weekend.

When my graphics guy made my business cards I loved the design, and with time working against me, I told him to use the same design for this flyer that I’d used on my business card. I could pass it out at the next few events I attended. He sent me a proof the week before my due date, but I was extremely busy at work, it had been a long week and I forgot to reply when I got home.

He called to ask me, if I got the sample and again- super busy, I asked him if it was the same design as my business card. Yes, it is- he told me. Confident in the order- “Go ahead and order it then.” big mistake

Spell check is fundamental… I know the human eye and mind only see a few letters and they make up the rest- but I immediately read “LASTEST”… What in the hell?.. I didnt know who I was more upset with- myself or him?… Did he not spell check “latest”, but why didnt I make time for myself. Its my business and my reputation on the line.

Note to self and lesson learned.

So, please new and old fans of Browngirl, please don’t judge me on my flyer. I had to use them because I didn’t have any other marketing materials.

Don’t worry over this boo-boo. The human eye naturally gravitates to the picture b/c we don’t like to read anyway and want to quickly get a feel for the ad.. so I’m sure this has went unnoticed by many (at least til you pointed it out). Don’t sweat the small stuff. You’re doing a great job. Keep pushing!
