Screen on the Green

SCREEN ON THE GREEN, presented in partnership with Piedmont Park Conservancy, Peachtree TV and the City of Atlanta, is heading back to its original home in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park, which I think is a better location- much more patron friendly and inviting.

For five consecutive Thursday evenings this summer, May 27 – June 24, fans will be treated to such hits as National Treasure (2004), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Dreamgirls (2006) and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977).

In addition, Peachtree TV invited viewers to vote for the Viewer’s Choice, the film you wanted to see on the final evening of SCREEN ON THE GREEN. The votes are in, and Jurassic Park (1993) just edged Casino Royale (2006) as the film for the final evening of SCREEN ON THE GREEN.

The complete viewing schedule for Peachtree TV’s 2010 SCREEN ON THE GREEN is as follows:

May 27 – National Treasure (2004)
June 3 – Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
June 10 – Dreamgirls (2006)
June 17 – Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977)
June 24 – Viewers’ Choice: Jurassic Park (1993)

Movies begin at sunset.

Peachtree TV’s Jeff “JJ” Johnson will introduce each night’s movie.  The festivities will open with music by local DJs, as well as musical performances from local Atlanta artists.

Moviegoers are welcome to bring picnic baskets, food, alcoholic beverages, but no glass containers can be brought into Piedmont Park. In consideration of others, SCREEN ON THE GREEN attendees are asked to leave pets at home.  Umbrellas, high-backed chairs and grills are strictly prohibited.
