The last time Popeyes offered a deal like this, lines wrapped around the block and several restaurants ran out of chicken causing an uproar among customers. This Wednesday, it’s back: eight pieces of “Bonafide Chicken” for $5.99.
The popular “Popeyes Pay Day” promotion runs one day only, April 21, at participating locations.
“The economy is slowly recovering and times are still tough,” Popeyes’ Chief Marketing Officer Dick Lynch said in a statement. “Our guests have stuck with us during these challenging times and we want to thank them for their loyalty with this pay day event.”
Popeyes’ spokeswoman Kelsey Schmitt says the Atlanta-based company has ordered more chicken this year to meet expected demand, but customers are still encouraged to call ahead to see what time their neighborhood Popeyes opens, arrive early and bring a friend for company in line.
More than 1,500 Popeyes restaurants will offer the $5.99 deal.
