This weekend in Atlanta was a dull attempt to recreate the black cultural event, Freaknic- which was a bust! (Freak-not, as I saw it referred to in tweets from the ajc.com). So my bestie and I we’re determined to go out and see first hand if there was any resemblance to the Freaknic that we attended WITHOUT actually participating or appearing to be participating.
We decided that Lenox was the spot- and we could have lunch and watch the kiddies circle the parking lot, and parade up and down the mall without so much as buying a cookie! So the bestie and I grabbed a patio seat at Lenox Square Grill and waited! lol…
Sadly, for you guys- we did not see much freaknic… Just your normal, “I’m trying to impress you with my Victoria Secret’s shopping bag” kinda girl, and your “wife beater, sunglasses inside the building” kinda guys. And all the people on the patio were “normal” like us!
But we had some pretty good food.
The bestie had a hotdog covered and smothered in french fries, chili and cheese… It was huge.

That ‘Where’s Waldo’ style hotdog looked pretty good. I might have to check this place out
You should!… And it actually had great flavor!
Dont bother going back. They do not like folks of color in their restaurant. Read the link below:

Yeah, thats the place across the street in your article… But thanks!
It’s owned by and managed by the same company that manages The Tavern at Phipps.
