turn signal

Note to the lady who flipped me off…

Tell me this. Why are there so many angry drivers out there? Are you giving me the finger because you couldn’t give it to your boss earlier? Or is it your husband that you’re mad with? Whatever the reason- please understand this:

Your turn signal does not mean that I have to let you into my lane. It does not mean that I have to alter my driving experience to succumb to your desires. It is only an indicator that you will be trying your best to merge into my lane. You too can reduce the speed of your car or you can accelerate so that you may proceed with your want of lane changing.

If I fail to alter my speed and your lane is running out, then you should (even previously) start to alter your own speed. You cannot ride along the side of me and decide that you wish to give me the finger due to your lack of planning for the lane change.

We have to stop trying to beat cars, cutting cars off, speeding up on the yellow, and taking it out on the other drivers when our goals aren’t accomplished. Thus far for me (And I could just be lucky), I have always been able to find a street or driveway to turn around in when I’ve missed turns due to poor planning.
