
Some ladies, and gentlemen as well, are looking for something different to do around Atlanta for their sweets on Valentine’s Day. (All in the name of love). Some are looking for a nice dinner to share with their BFF’s or mothers and daughters. Whichever you are- check out these events and deals for this weekend.
- The High Museum is hosting their annual Valentine’s Day Celebration on February 13th. A romantic evening of art, live music, salsa dance lessons, and other special treats. Champagne and desserts will be available for purchase.
- A soulfully seductive way to spend Valentine’s weekend as wordsmiths and comedians speak their hearts on love and romance,is at Passion and Poetry. Talents from HBO’s “Def Poets” and BET’s “Lyric Café” will grace the stage, as will trumpeter Joey Sommerville, R&B songstresses Avery Sunshine and Xscape’s Tamika Scott and other talents versed in love and lust.

- The Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center will be the home of a Valentine’s Day Comedy Explosion featuring: Arnez J, Earthquake & L Crawford on the 13th as well.
- Sambuca’s is promising some wonderful entertainment from Chinua Hawk, male vocalist on the evening of the 14th.
- Lenox Square Grill will be hosting a Speed Dating Event on Friday the 12th, from 6:30pm- 8:30pm.
- Another pre- Valentine Day event for you to attend (for free), is a book reading from Atlanta author, Shay at the Central Library Auditorium on Thurs Evening.
- “Don’t Buy Love, Make It” is the playful title of the annual chocolate-making class at Cacao which features handcrafted confections made directly from cocoa beans.
- Calling all chocoholics. Atlanta Grill at The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta is offering a $79 four-course prix fixe menu that incorporates chocolate into every bite. Tastes include butternut squash soup with chocolate royal; chocolate duck confit, cocoa-crusted beef tenderloin and pear and chestnut and chocolate tiramisus with chocolate sorbet. The menu is available for dinner all weekend.

- The quintessential romantic restaurant, the recently reopened Sun Dial will feature a $69 three-course prix fixe menu all weekend along. And if you’re thinking of getting engaged, this is the place to do it. The Sun Dial averages more than 400 proposals a year—and expects no less than 40 on Valentine’s Day.
