CeCe Winans maybe known for her beautiful, uplifting voice, but at the end of the day she is human with issues and problems she has to work through just like the rest of us. And next to her music, that’s what she wants people to know more than anything.

“Life is rough and we all experience the storms, but if you are singing about positiveness and you’re singing about God’s love and His peace and His happiness and His joy, it’s hard to stay down,” she said.

Urban Influence Magazine talked to the multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning songstress as she prepared for her summer-long tour with the McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration, her Always Sisters, Forever Brothers conference and a long-awaited BeBe & CeCe reunion to give 5 simple steps on how she weathers life’s storm that you can use when times get rough in your world.

1. Fall in love

“My encouragement to people is just to fall in love with God. Fall in love with God and everything else will really work out.

2. On your own journey, always look for new people to help.

“You experience something, it’s a good chance other people are experiencing it, too.”

3. While inspiring others, get inspired yourself.

“A lot of times I hear a song that we sing, or either we are out on stage and we are  experiencing a rough time; it reminds me like it reminds everybody that God is there.”

4. Pray about it first; ask questions later.

” I’ve questioned things that have happened, but I have never questioned God because I  have the foundation and I know that even when I don’t understand, God does. Even when I don’t know how I will make it, I’ve realized that I don’t have to know how…And that comes with a relationship. That doesn’t happen overnight.”

5. Nurture your faith like you would any other relationship.

Reading my word daily, going to prayer, going to church…it’s so important to have daily relationship with Him and when you do that you become stronger and stronger and you’re able to go through what life brings your way.
