In the midst of celebrating another Anniversary,V-103’s Frank and Wanda Morning Show hosted special guest Hill Harper and Dr. Alduan Tartt, with a live audience at Justin’s on Peachtree this morning. The conversation, also the name of Harper’s new book, was primarily about relationships from both angles- men and women.
Thinks like:
- Women date men for their potential, seeing sometimes what those men have yet to realize themselves.
- Dating Down- Harper told Frank was a crippling term to use, because it implies relationships should be measured by wealth and prestige.
- People are dating personalities instead of finding out what people’s character’s are. People present their representatives, what they want you to see. Not their true selves.
- Man-Up: The final chapter in Harper’s book, encouraging the brothers to stop allowing brothers and friends to do misbehave by not taking care of kids or being unfaithful in relationships.
- He stated than most men usually turning a blind eye, or deaf ears on other people’s business. But he is encouraging that with friends that it is another man’s business.
Eye to eye conversations should take place where one man communicates he doesn’t feel comfortable engaging in conversation over beers with his pal, when he knows that he hasn’t spoken to his children in weeks. Or acting like they don’t see the side chick you bring to the game when you have a girl or wife at home.
Dr Tartt, shared a few excellent points but the one that stood out the most was that women can approach men. It can be a simple “hello,” or “how are you,” to initiate a conversation, and to then let the man take over, since sometimes we look unapproachable without realizing.
Although I woke up late today, the 30 or 40 minutes I did hear were enlightening enough to make me want to purchase both guests work.
