Dating on the internet was once a taboo subject. It was thought to be unsafe by many and desperate by the rest. But as technology advances and the social scenes mirror the previous Saturday night, people are beginning to rely on the 21st century matchmakers.
Their names are 
eHarmony, Chemistry, Black People Meet, and Match.com, which is where 37 year old actress Essence Atkins found her now husband, Jaime Mendez. The couple, who tied the knot at the Ambassador Mansion and Gardens, met on Valentine’s Day of last year and wed a year later.
I know a couple about the age of 27 and 28 who met on Black Planet and have been together for at least a year. Also another couple who knew of each other but actually connected thru a High School Alumni site and have been dating for a short time.
I have 3 girl pals that have mentioned to me that they too are considering signing up for an online dating service. What does this mean? I think each race alike is embracing the new method of dating. Has chance and fate gone out of the window? Are people feeling unable to select a decent companion? Do people want to rid the trial and error process tired of the heartbreak and disappointment?
I think that its a great way to meet people–it forces you to talk first.
