i’m just saying…

Losing weight is the second hardest struggle of my life. *Pause… let me get more comfortable* Is it realistic to expect a crack head to be in a room full of crack and not use? What about an alcoholic?

Do you take them to an open bar (if you care about them) and expect them not to drink?  No, you don’t- especially the crackhead! (Maybe I should alter the term crackhead, not wanting to offend anyone- although if you use crack,??? Ummm go figure)

Why then, do people undermine or make light of the struggle of overeaters? This is the only addiction that I can think of that is Read More

wtf friday…
car crash, wrecks, 285 atlanta

It’s taken me an entire week to find the words (alternatives to a string of curse words of course) to share my last Friday evening events. The day was going well, I spent time with great people, and all was right with the world.

When I was ready to leave my destination and head home it was raining. It was late (11:30pm) and only getting later, so I proceeded to leave, careful not to speed with the roads being wet (I wasn’t even going 60mph). I saw a vehicle rolling up on me, and I was thinking he was one of those people going to show me I was driving too slowly.

You know how some drivers are insane, and want to get right up on your back and then let up. Well I was in the far left lane and really had no where to go. I watched his headlights getting close then start to coast towards my right. Read More

thought thursday…

presents bought and received for other people

In a recent conversation a woman was sharing a story of how she’d purchased a gift for her then boyfriend. She was waiting on the right time which became not the time at all to give him the surprise.

They soon broke up and she decided to keep the gift, not being able to return it because she’d lost the receipt. Entering in a new relationship, she told me that she really liked the new guy, who happened to have a birthday approaching.

They were going to be dating about 6 months when his birthday rolled around, and she asked me if she could give him the gift she’d bought for her ex? Read More

mechad brooks- true blood- desperate housewives-The Game

I had to post Mehcad Brooks (True Blood, Melanie’s boyfriend Jerome, on the CW’s The Game) was spotted running in the Tag the World celebrity triathlon in Hawaii this weekend. He was sweaty and shirtless. This is my last tasty treat for a few days, I don’t want to start anything with he.

i’m just saying…

Forget what you heard. Wayne Brady is hot! (I dont know why the video says Waybe- but whatever) I am so tickled as I type this because his hairline was pointed out to me by a gentleman once, but I don’t even care. He’s funny. Charming. Charismatic. And just kind of sexy…

I enjoy him most on Don’t Forget the Lyrics, and I occasionally tuned into Whose Line Is It Anyway, just to see him be silly.

Oh, and this song is actually nice. Listen to the words. Great message for all of you who break up and kids are involved.  That’s all… I don’t want to get into trouble for carrying on and on. Butterummm…  Wayne Brady? Please believe it. I’m just saying…

wtf friday…
peta-save-whales-billboard

People who have a high regard of animal rights clearly have no sympathy for human rights. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, commonly known by its acronym PETA, have crossed the line with their latest billboard.

It is located in Jacksonville, Florida and features an overweight woman with the caption, “Save the whales. Lose the blubber: Go vegetarian.”

Is PETA serious right now. Let’s just gather all the overweight population and cast stones at them.

PETA’s response to the backlash against its billboard is to point out that it is trying to help obese people. PETA released a press release that quoted Tracy Reiman, PETA’s executive vice president, as saying, “Trying to hide your thunder thighs and Read More

larenz-tate-Rescue me

Larenz Tate has come along way from “O-Dog”, a trigger-happy teenager in Menace II Society. He’s shown a wide variety of talent convincing us in each role as he becomes his latest character.  He has even added Executive Producer to his credits for an independent film “Love Come Down.”

I’m excited to see him in his new role on FX’s Network Series Rescue Me. He’s proved time and time again to be truly talented and entertaining. I even think he’s a good guy.

21 Jump Street, The Wonder Years, The Women of Brewster Place, Family Matters, Menace II Society, Dead Presidents, South Central, The Inkwell, Dead Presidents, Fresh Prince of Bel- Air, Love Jones, Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Love Come Down, Crash, Ray, Rain on Me Video, and Rescue Me.

Orange Question Mark Button, originally uploaded by jhhwild.

I love it. I love its features and every additional task it completes. I love the challenges and the surprise of discovering it without any assistance. I love the way it fits in its special place.

I am so delicate with it at first, keeping it in the softest place possible.  I am usually most interested in how I can dress it up. How I can most make it mine. Identifiable and unique from anyone else.

When the first inevitable meeting between it and the hard spot happen, I am usually able to take a load off and relax.

Its time for a new one, yet the selection is grand. Each one stands out more than the last.  And once you commit there will be another to top it. Read More

te·na·cious tuesday…
apology

Later on in my bookstore visit the other day, I sat down to skim a few books I didn’t want to purchase. But before that, I went to the checkout counter to ask where I would pick up a book that I reserved on line.

The cashier, a middle- aged woman, said in the back at Customer Service. Mind you, I’d just come from that desk when the employee ignored me( Face to face or over the phone). When I did get some help, the book was at the front of the store with the middle aged woman, that I’d clearly just asked 5 mins prior about.

I looked at her already not in the best mood Read More

messy monday…
CustomerServ

While I was in search of a book at my local book store, I waited on the customer service desk rep to assist me with the online reservation I’d made earlier that day. I only wanted to pick the book up and maybe be directed to the section so I could browse like topics before I left.

The store clerk was assisting a customer over the phone. She placed the caller on hold saying “One moment, I’ll go and look.” (What in the world goes through my mind as I watch her walk away?)

I was slightly offended. Call me crazy but her at least acknowledging my presence with a “One moment ma’am” may have escaped her from being my messy Monday subject. But she didn’t. Not a word to me. Read More

wtf friday…

Loser ex boyfriend

Mr. Football is an ex that keeps in touch for various reasons. One reason, he’s a decent guy at heart, good friend to his homies of course, and an excellent father. In our few and far between conversations, we discuss or text about if each others in a relationship, how families are doing, and whatever other news worthy information we decide to share.

Mr. Football is a person who taught me a lot about love, games, behavior and rules. He’s the person who will tell you that he loves you in one breathe, and tell you he has a baby on the way in the next.

In more recent text conversations, he expressed that he was pretty sure he’d never get married. To me this was a joke, Read More

thought thursday…
made of honor

When we were 9 and 10 years old it didn’t matter what sex your best friend was. It was the person who lived closest to you, the person who was outside at the same time you were allowed out, or the person who had the same metal strawberry shortcake lunch box as you.

As we get older, we aren’t playing outside as much. Our best friend becomes a person who is available to go to the bar when you need a drink. They are single at the same times you are.

You are there to accompany each other to dreaded family events, or obligatory work functions. They are people we count on to help us process why he didn’t ask for our number, or why she didn’t return the phone call. They are a shoulder to lean on.

But when one of the two gets into a relationship, Read More

wardrobe wednesday…

fall fashion collage

When a different season approaches, do you listen to what the style guru’s such as Carolina Herrera, Oscar Del La Renta,  and Michael Kors have to say? Do you base your mall purchases on pics seen in magazines? Or do you choose your own style, so to speak?

Do you wear scarves because Jay -Z and Lil Wayne made it ok, or did you have a collection of them before hand.  Are you shaving one half of your head because someone else did it, or was it a thought when you were younger watching Mr. T and The A Team.

Do you own sensible pieces or will you have to start all over come next fall? Are you trendy, chasing each fad that comes along. Or do you create a wardrobe that stands the test of time and you always look fashionable?
