wtf friday…

Tonight I watched a replay of the latest find love reality show More to Love. It starts just like all the other bachelor shows, until it goes to each girl’s pre/post interview. You know where she tells us, how she’s never been in love before, or how men never take her seriously. On each of those, seemingly non scripted segments, they display her age, height, and WEIGHT!

After the first one, I’m thinking, it’s been a long week and I’m tired— because surely a full figured woman’s biggest insecurity did not just become known to the entire community of viewers and readily available to the world. Read More

crying-tears

I am a cry baby in the worst sense of the word. Example, I cried during the preview of Akeelah and the Bee. I believe the look in the eyes of the homeless real or pretend. I always cheer for the underdog, and I will cry over and over on the final scenes of my over watched favorite flicks.

I don’t know how or why I am so sensitive to matters of the heart. I feel sorry for people at the right times and I allow too much to pull on my heart strings. Some of it could be the way I was raised, perhaps. Read More

wardrobe wednesday…

skinny-jeans-on-men

I love the way my skinny jeans cover just enough of the top of my heels. I love how they accent my already huge calves. And I especially appreciate the slimming look they provide my simply curvaceous body.

But what I don’t care to see, is my man (I don’t care about your man), wearing a pair of tight legged, private part hugging, booty crack showing skinny jeans. It really leaves nothing to be desired. Don’t misunderstand me. I can’t stand sagging or jeans that fit too loosely. But a man who is properly sized in his attire is sexy.

A nice fitting shirt and a complimentary pair of jeans- is a great combination. It says, he is confident, neat, cares about his appearance and is ambitious. What do skinny jeans on a man say to you?

te·na·cious tuesday…

tenacity

After completing my 21 Day Daniel Fast, I am still on a quest to become a better person- mind, body, and soul. I strive to feed every component of my being, by learning and challenging myself to try new ideas, and to explore to unexplored. These decisions have to be long term, or they turn into fads. I want to start a consciousness that I can instill in my future children, and expose my family and friends to.

Between the fast, the movie Food, inc., my weight, and my health I am convinced that I have to treat this one body I have like the temple it is. If I don’t respect it, who will, and I only have one to get me through this entire journey of life. I have to commit to the gym for the last time Read More

food-inc_how-muchmessy monday…
New Cow

In Food, Inc., filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation’s food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that has been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government’s regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA.

Our nation’s food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment.

We have bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, herbicide-resistant soybean seeds, even tomatoes that won’t go bad, but we also have new strains of E. coli—the harmful bacteria that causes illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually. We are riddled with widespread obesity, particularly among children, and an epidemic level of diabetes among adults. Read More and watch Movie Clip

i can do bad all by myself

Say what you want, hate when you have the time, but Tyler Perry and his creative writing staff, producers, production crew, and actors and actresses are geniuses.  The actors and actresses are such for having the sense to not turn down a TP project. There hasn’t been a film preview yet that didn’t have me marking my calendar and sending text messages to the crew saying “we have got to go see Tyler Perry’s new movie.” Although, in my personal life- I have never experienced not having a place Read More and Watch Preview

solange project

Seriously!!! I don’t care….

Why does anyone care, how people are cutting their hair. Other than “Oh that’s cute” or “ewwh, I dont like it.” Guess what you don’t have to look at her, and no one is forcing you to cut yours.

Why the girl have to be going through something or seeking attention. Why cant it just be hot as hell outside and she is tired of spending her money on bags of weave. India Arie told you folks “I am not my hair”…. I’m just saying…

friday…

Eternal Scream, originally uploaded by Josh Sommers.

As you may know I am new to the blogging game. I have been trying my best to self sufficient in looking for the best blog site, seeing what sites everyone else is using by their page info, and what is close enough to free for my entrepreneurial pockets, and getting verbal recommendations from friends and family. I love to write, no doubt.

I like to learn, that’s a given. But I despise this wtf bamboozled feeling I have by perhaps choosing the wrong site which I thought I thoroughly researched.  I want my site to grow eventually and to even become main stream. I want it to be one of your daily routine sites, somewhere between the mediatakeouts.com and Miss necolebitchie.com. Read More

cheater

There was a block of time that I was seeing everyone’s man in the street with other women. My approach depended on my relationship with the woman. This is going to be a tricky topic for those who feel like I should mind my business in any case. No matter what or who is involved. To those individuals I say tune in to 20/20’s What Would You Do- then follow up with me at a later date.

See if it changes your perspective if the Timberlands or Coach loafers were on the other foot. I am a woman first, and a friend to few. So don’t confuse this with some kind of player hater crusade that I lead. Read More

i’m just saying…

keisha-tat

Why are people still making a big deal about Keyshia Cole’s latest tattoo.  Women are calling her names, and men are saying she is sprung on the young b baller to get his name tattooed on her body.

I feel the complete opposite.

I am certain that everyone expresses their love in a variety of ways.  In some countries- beating women is thought to be an example of love and dedication!  I think Keyshia is a girl who loves tattoo’s as a way of expressing herself. Whereas some women cook and clean, or purchase a man clothes, or even buying him expensive gifts.

That’s was her thing, her expression to her man. The b baller, has his own money so he doesn’t need any assistance on his t-mobile phone bill this month. He has a chef, so you can keep your mama’s secret cornbread recipe.

She is not the first woman to do what other women don’t like to keep her man.  If it doesn’t work out, she can get it covered…I’m just saying…

wardrobe wednesday..

fat2

Despite the advice of a loyal fan, I am choosing to cover a subject dear to my heart. Wardrobe. Wardrobe on any plus size woman, for this matter, is a touchy subject. I fear that a lot of plus sized individuals feel that because a variety of clothing is made in “our” size, Read More

te*na*cious tuesday…

Kerry-Washington-Ray

As I pass by BET, they are running a commercial for apparently everyone’s new favorite reality show except mine, Tiny and Toya. I catch a glimpse of Tiny wiping away her tears, friends encouraging her on her first night alone, and a plane lifting off- leaving us to assume that her long term boyfriend is off to serve his year and a day jail sentence. In a flash it creates a spiral of thoughts, however most of them incomplete. I end up at am I, or are most women, tried and true, relentless, loyal and as some say “ride or die”, as we proclaim to be during the “convince a man to date us stage.” I have to admit, that I did tune in to watch the highly anticipated episode to see T.I. off to prison, although it was actually covered months ago in the media. But before the credits role, there is a note from her to him, that says 3 things:

  1. He is a good man- despite the consequences on his action that will temporarily keep them apart.
  2. That he is the love of her life- assuring him that she loves who he is as a man, not the fair weathered groupie love a rapper receives and, Read More

messy monday…

Girl Fight!, originally uploaded by photomato.

You cannot be almost 40 years old and use the internet’s social networking sites to blast and embarrass your friend of 20+ years. It all starts with laughs and gossip about everyone who is not in the click.

They both could use help financially and why not lean on your friend. Money is involved, so it’s not hard to guess that it goes wrong. One party says “you owe me” and the other says “not on my life.” (My words, not theirs) So the party that feels they are owed money, somehow has her fire recently lit and decides to hack into the account of her ex buddy. maxwell

I am listening to Maxwell’s Pretty Wings song and I love all 5:09 mins of it’s uncut version. But I am skeptical of purchasing the CD because  I have lately felt bamboozled when I did buy a CD.

I am a true fan to those that I feel provide me with consist good music. Beyonce, for instance- I am a fan. I get tired of her pretty, fine lil self all over my TV and radio- but no doubt am I a fan. I purchased her CD, like a true fan the first week it was released and she turned around and re-released it with new songs for all the Lucy come Lately’s… WTF.

Why didn’t my first week CD, have a itunes voucher in it for 2 free downloads to say Read More

scared to call this wtf friday…

Okay, I have been wondering if this was the right thing to post or not. Toying with it for a few days and I wasn’t sure how it would make me look. But as a wise woman told me, you have to be yourself at all times, don’t hide behind popular demand. It is my blog. I love the people who choose to read and especially those entertained enough to leave a comment.

I hope you take this question to heart and reply with your insight.  Here goes… I, first off let me say Read More
